Show in Lorica in the 1st stage of the Snow Volleyball Championship

The team consisting of Ilaria Lucia Turano, Federica Tonon and Cristiana Parenzan triumphed in the women’s draw. The expert team made up of Tonon and Parenzan, historical figures from the world of volleyball, beach volleyball and Italian snow volleyball and beyond, was the undisputed protagonist of this first FIPAV snow volleyball event. In fact, the Venetian team achieved five wins in as many games played and did not lose a set. The last and most important game was won by Turano, Tonon and Parenzan in the final against Ivana Fazzari, Chiara Gentile and Milena Ruggia. A seemingly hard-fought final, but one where greater experience, particularly from Tonon and Parenzan, made the difference in the crucial moments of the game. At the beginning of the game and after being strong at 7:7, Tonon, Parenzan and Turano switched gears and initially built a good lead at 13:9 before launching the final attack and closing the first set at 15:13 . Sprint start by the trio Turano/Tonon/Parenzan at the beginning of the second half of the game; An ace from Federica Tonon made the score 12:5. Fazzari/Gentile/Ruggia proudly tried to recover and managed to partially close the gap (13-9). In the end, however, it was the more experienced team that brought the game to a close; Turano/Tonon/Parenzan reached the final with a score of 15:12, closing out the match and effectively winning the first victory in this first event of the 2024 Italian Absolute Snow Volleyball Championship. At the end of the event, Federica Tonon was named MVP of the tournament. Giorgia Grandi, Anna Perri and Nicole Di Fino reached third place on the podium thanks to the 2:1 (15:9, 12:15, 15:6) against Claudia Arpaia, Alba Adamo, Federica Coppola and Giada Iannazzo.

The team consisting of Enrico Lupatelli, Riccardo Moro and Gaetano Vespero won the men’s tournament. Like the winners of the women’s tournament, they also had important victories, four between the group phase and the final, without losing a set. After reaching the final thanks to the 2-0 (15-11, 16-14) against Marco Oscar Zucco, Luigi Vasta, Gabriele Panetta and Rocco Panetta, Lupatelli, Moro and Vespero managed to hold their own against the strong ones in the final Abruzzo team made up of Massimo Di Risio, Filippo Galante and Francesco Pignatelli, which won here in Lorica last season but lost today 0-2 (15-7, 15-13). At the start of the game, Lupatelli, Moro and Vespero started on the right foot and immediately took an excellent lead 11-7. The troubled team from Abruzzo was unable to respond and their rivals took advantage of this by finishing the first half with a score of 15-7. Second movement much more balanced; In the end the two teams went from 9:9 to 13:13, but the final push by Lupatelli, Moro and Vespero was decisive as they found the winning move and finished the game with 15:13. Riccardo Moro was named MVP of the tournament. The team consisting of Marco Oscar Zucco, Luigi Vasta, Gabriele Panetta and Rocco Panetta won the final for the 3/4 place, winning 2:1 (16:14, 6:15, 15:11) against Alessandro Santacroce , Andrea Baggetta and Domenico Belcastro.
