In the last few days the league has i formalized Criteria for the 2023/24 Serie A calendar draw. From the asymmetric groups to the point related to the derbies (they must be on different days), here are the criteria for the calendar draw:
“1. The gameplay in the first round is different from that in the second round.
2. The following criteria are taken into account when creating home and away game sequences:
a) There may not be more than two pairs of consecutive home and/or away matches per group.
b) If there are two pairs of consecutive home and/or away matches, one pair of matches must necessarily be played at home and the other away;
c) An absolute change of home and away games is planned for the following club pairings:
EMPOLI – FIORENTINA
INTER MILAN
JUVENTUS-TURIN
LATIO – ROME
NAPLES – SALERNITAN
d) In all cases where this was possible, situations where the field was unavailable and/or it coincided with other events in the city of particular importance were taken into account.
3. The following criteria were taken into account when compiling the pairings of the clubs to determine the individual games:
a) Matches between Atalanta, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Milan, Naples and Rome are not possible on the 1st, 2nd and 38th matchday, in the weekday shift (6th matchday) and on the matchday before that (5th matchday). , as well as the derbies of Milan, Rome and Turin as well as those of Campania and Tuscany; Likewise, matches between the same teams and derbies on matchday 19 are not possible as these could be teams participating in the Italian Super Cup and their matches will inevitably have to be postponed to the midweek round;
